We do

Well, not just yet.

But here’s a preview of our rings and possibly, our cake topper :)

Happy weekend.

We’re 2!

Well, actually we were two a few days back on Nov 28.

He claims it was at the exact time of 12.45am in 2007 that he asked me to be his girlfriend, a fact which I couldn’t remember, and which I promptly got chided for.

But what I do remember was that we were at the seats along the waterfront, facing the Singapore River and the CBD skyline.

I had just returned from covering the tragic dragonboating incident in Cambodia. He had been a very firm support for me through the assignment; it was my first overseas one and he was such a firm support, keeping in touch via msn and smses, to make sure I was doing fine.

I remember he took me to watch Enchanted that night. For those who did not watch it, it was a Disney fairy tale with a twist, but yes, it still had its happy ending. What a perfect movie annit? Not only to take my mind off the tragedy, but a nice opener to our relationship too.

He was pretty formal about it when it came to that 12.45am moment (he actually asked me formally if I wanted to be his girlfriend)… and I remember thinking what a gentleman he was, and if this was the way things were starting out for us, it could only get better.

Well, indeed it has, and I hope, God willing, that it will continue to be the case.

Happy anniversary my darling.

Counting down…

Each day, I type words and craft sentences. Somehow, I haven’t put any down here, till now. It’s not that I have nothing to say. It’s just that I can’t describe the enormous task ahead of me, and us. Not just with the wedding, but also the life ahead together. I can only hope I can be the best that I can give.

Here we go. The countdown to a life together has begun.

Ladies in red

My lovely ladies Ivy, Mish and myself  got to talking about the bridesmaid dress over my birthday meetup tonight (thanks dears for the presents) and I’m so happy they agreed with my choice of colour.

Deciding on the colour theme wasn’t easy.

I toyed with many colours; spent nights surfing wedding blogs, looking at what other brides chose.

Initially, my mind was fixed on beige but somehow it didn’t feel right.

Then this inspiration board caught my eye; specifically the right picture in the second row:

I knew I had my bridesmaid colour!

Ain’t it just so vibrant? It goes really well with pink peonies too!

Most importantly, I think all seven of you will look stunning! :)

Viv recently showed me another pic too of bridesmaids in red at  a wedding here.

Gorgeous eh?

Now all I need is a good tailor !

Bridezilla

Found this ad while surfing wedding blogs today -

So, my fiance and I are getting married in June. He has 8 groomsmen lined up and I only have one bridesmaid. So, I need some girls who are attractive and around my age to stand up in my wedding. You can be single or taken. It doesn’t matter….you just have to be hot. But, not hotter then me. Email me for more information. The wedding will be in Madison and you won’t have to pay for a thing.

Too funny!

I still heart balls but….

But I now think pomander balls may not look the best for the aisles, so we may try this instead, but with different flowers:

Also very pretty :)

I LOVE BALLS

Pomander balls I mean, what were you thinking? :P

But aren’t they cute????

There are many DIY tutorials on how to make them online, and we are going to try to make them for our wedding.

Cheap + pretty =YAY

And the flower of choice is….

The peony!

Oh dear peony, I’ve loved you all this while without knowing it.

It has colours similar to that of the rose, only not as commonplace or dare I say, boring,  as the said flower of love.

In fact, the peony, the traditional flora of China,  supposedly embodies  romance and prosperity and is regarded as an omen of good fortune and a happy marriage.

Perfect. :)

Random thoughts for July and colour

- The bad thing about only getting married next year (and near the end of it no less) is that you want next year to come a little faster.

- The good thing about only getting married next year is the more than ample amount of time we can take to plan for the day.

- My friend Shu was supposed to get married next month but he postponed the wedding because of the hee-nee!!!! I still cannot believe the extent of the disruption this terrible virus has caused to everyone.

- We are going to see the parish priest in a couple of hours time to get his permission to use the main church hall and thereafter seal the date for the wedding.

Ok random thoughts aside now and onto the colour theme.

For a few months, I’ve been keeping a folder on my computer which stores pictures of wonderful wedding ideas that has caught my eye. In it, I keep ideas on quite a number of things from bridesmaid dresses to wedding favours.

But I suppose the most fundamental thing to start on should be the colour theme.

Wee Keat and I are not going to be too adventurous when it comes to colour and will go for  pink, pastel tones to add on to the classic country-garden type wedding I’ve always wanted!!!! Excitings!!

Here are predominantly pink flower bouquets with…..

#1 hints of green and purple

#2 hints of orange

#3 hints of red and yellow

#4 hints of purple

#5 hints of white

I guess they are pretty minor details huh? But I can’t decide.  I suppose this will ultimately depend on which colour combination goes best with the dress.

What do you think?

June

Wow… May has already whizzed by and we’re already in the middle of 2009.

Besides us going on a short rejuvenating trip to Krabi, the month has been just been spent labouring at work.

It’s June now and I’m wondering if things should be cranked up on the wedding front.

Everything’s still pretty quiet now – I’ve just been surfing wedding websites and collecting pricey wedding magazines for ideas.

It not only allows me to have a little breather from the grind of work; all the pretty wedding things makes me happy and reminds me of the wonderful things in life.

Anyways, yes Keat and I have yet to jot down our thoughts about our E encounter. We will try to do so soon.

With that, am signing off from this short post. Will try to update more frequently too.

Good night!
